Remembering Patrick!

Patrick Milkintas 1942-2011 US Army Vet

This week we were saddened at the loss of a faithful volunteer, but most importantly friend of The Salvation Army, Patrick Milkintas at the age of 68.

Patrick was a beneficiary of The Salvation Army for a period of time but soon enough wanted to give back and became a volunteer with us for several years.  Patrick worked alongside our Property Maintenance Director, Mike Yonnotti on various projects at our command and community center, he helped us move in and out of our Angel Tree warehouse every year, pick up Angel Tree gifts from the malls, paint when needed, landscape around the building and every year, plant beautiful flowers while weeding on a regular basis.  Majority of the time, Patrick just spotted things that needed to be done and within minutes would be out there doing it.

Patrick was a blessing to everyone he came in contact with and was remarkable in how he always remembered staff’s birthdays.  He was always smiling and always eager to help, no matter what!  Heaven just received their very own Sally Star, we’ll miss you Patrick!

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011, from noon to 1 p.m. in the chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial follows at 2 p.m. in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery near Pegram.
