Meet E.J. Boyson

I snapped a pic of EJ as he was working with one of our students during a math session

Our Life Skills Learning Center was launched in 2007 at The Salvation Army Center of Hope here in Nashville and it has been going strong ever since.  We offer FREE GED classes for those within our current programs as well as residents of the community along with Budgeting classes, Dress for Success, Financial Peace class conducted by a staff member from Dave Ramsey’s and assistance with resumes.

We have had many incredible volunteers within this program over the past few years including current Advisory Board member, William Dick, Jr. and our featured Sally Star, EJ Boyson, who has been faithfully serving since the initiative began.

E. J. Boyson has earned a sterling reputation brokering investments at Smith Barney in Nashville.  Decades ago, E. J. earned his college tuition and degree flipping burgers, now as a successful broker, he chooses to give back to those he believes have the potential to be anything they want!

EJ understands what it means to work hard, to sacrifice and to succeed.  It’s these traits along with his love for the Lord and his family that he desires to share with others.

Since 2007, every Tuesday evening, you will find EJ at our Center of Hope sitting at a table with adults from varied backgrounds who are seeking change in their life by way of earning their GED.   EJ exemplifies patience, wisdom and discernment as he works with each student according to their educational level and empowers each one to go above and beyond!
